Welcome back for part 2 of our season preview! We chat about our thoughts on the massive amount of moves made in the Atlantic and Metropolitan divisions throughout the off-season.
What do we think of Toronto? How about the revamped Florida Panthers? Can the Carolina Hurricanes continue to be one of the stronger eastern conference teams? Have a listen and then share your thought with us!
Hello listeners!!! We’re back and better than ever. Please enjoy our first episode of the season where we discuss the Flames offseason and the rest of the Western conference. We make predictions, recap big offseason moves, and provide hot takes galore. Oilers offseason? Terrible. Canucks offseason? Confounding. Leafs? Shortsighted.
In this week’s episode we return to our three period format.
1st Period: We discuss the Flames performance on draft day. They made 4 picks, including 4 forwards and a goalie. We give our thoughts on the picks and the rumours that were floating around regarding the Flames goaltending options.
2nd Period: We talk about other teams and what they did at the Draft including Carolina, Colorado, and Anaheim. Next we talk about some of the big trades that went down during draft weekend including Subban and Marleau changing addresses.
3rd Period: Lastly we round up more rumours from around the league as well as trades that have taken place following the Stanley Cup Final.
Hey listeners! The season has come to a close and an NHL Stanley Cup Champion has been determined. Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues who played one of the most unpredictable and remarkable seasons in ages. Last place in January to first place in June!
We recorded this episode hot on the heels of game 7, so we obviously had a lot to say about the Stanley Cup Final. We break down the series, the game, and talk about the Conn Smythe Trophy.
In our next segment, we revisit the NHL awards nominees and give our final picks for the winners. This was a really fun episode to record and we hope you enjoy it.
This week we really focus in on the Stanley Cup Final and discuss how the series is going. Currently at 2-2, it is still anyone’s series. The health of the Boston Bruins is becoming an issue, particularly with Zdeno Chara going down with what has been reported in some places as a broken jaw.
We talk about the top performers on the Blues such as Ryan O’Reilly, Alex Pietrangelo and Vladimir Tarasenko.
Finally, we move on to some news and notes around the league including the impending UFA decision by Erik Karlsson and the Oilers hiring a new coach who seems a lot like the last coach.
Hey Listeners! This week we break down the World Men’s Hockey Championship. Finland beat Canada 3-1 in a frustrating gold medal final, while Russia won what I think was probably a disappointing bronze given the quality of the roster they brought to the tournament.
We talk about the performance of Flames players and complain about the Oilers as is our way.
We also talk about game 1 of the SCF, which the Bruins were able to win to gain a 1-0 series lead. Boston started slow after their long break, but once they got in gear they were easily the better team. The battle is already raging with a ton of physical play and after the whistle scrums.
